Our July Fish A Long targeted small streams on Mt Hood off Hwy 26. This was a new area for most of us but it worked out very well. We had good weather, good attendance and afterwards, good food! Here’s a recap; pics first with the description below.

Many people expressed interest in the Upper Sandy River but it runs off color from melting glaciers in the summer. For this reason our primary targets were the clear running streams; the Salmon, Zig Zag, Still Creek and Camp Creek. This time Still Creek produced the best fishing. As you’d expect, most of the fish were small but a couple respectable specimens were brought to hand.

A couple anglers tried some of the small streams up by Lolo Pass. Again, it was mostly small to very small fish but a respectable fish or two were landed. Most action was on small dry flies.

Afterwards we had a potluck steak BBQ, a great ending to our day. Thanks to everyone that came and made this another fun Fish A Long to remember!
