Rock Creek Res & Pine Hollow 3-21-19

Rock Creek Reservoir was the intended fishing site, but was still 90% iced in.  I didn’t expect that!  Went to Pine Hollow and it was only about 40% ice so we fished there.

I was with another club member Timothy, and a friend of his new to flyfishing.  From about 10 am to noon the bite was good in water 3-10’ deep.  I was using seal buggers, Carey Specials, and Stillwater nymph patterns.  Thick & feisty fish that had wintered over were liking all of those. After noon the bite really slowed down and fish were eating something just subsurface but I was unable to match it and only had another couple of hookups during this time.

All in all a good day!
