As a service to the local community we have adopted a section of road on
the Clackamas River. The road we selected is Springwater Road
just east of Carver boat ramp. Our section of road runs between
Bakers Ferry Road and McCubbin Road, about 1 1/2 miles
total. We have signs installed at both ends of our area that
read "ADOPT A ROAD, CLACKAMAS FLY FISHERS".
This section of road has moderate to high traffic and had never been cleaned. On
our first outing, we filled 3 bags of garbage, stacked 4 tires, and 1
wooden pallet. Clackamas County picks up the garbage on Monday after
the cleanup. We've been providing this service to the community
since 2003 and meet several times a year to help keep this section of
the County looking good.
