Sandy River-Winter Chrome is Right Around the Corner
The Sandy boasts a large run of wild steelhead that are very responsive to the swung fly. Located just east of Portland the Sandy travels through a scenic canyon reminiscent of fabled rivers in British Columbia. With long boulder strewn runs and riffle breaks the Sandy is well suited for the swung fly. Although the average fish is 8 to 12 pounds you also have the oppurtunity to catch that 20 lb fish of your dreams without having to travel far.
